The first half of 2026 was filled with meaningful milestones, marking a series of ‘firsts’ that expanded our reach and deepened our impact. We are proud to share the gatherings and celebrations that deepened our cultural connection and collective work of building community:

January: Highlighting Local AAPI Businesses

We understand how vital visibility and storytelling are for small business success. By uplifting local entrepreneurs, we strengthen our community’s economic impact. Along with our Marketing/Comms, a small team connected with local AAPI businesses to offer them a spotlight on our social media platforms. We’ve now highlighted four incredible businesses—discover them by clicking HERE.

February: Celebrating Lunar New Year - Year of the Fire Horse

Proclamations were issued by leaders from the City of Roseville and the City of Rocklin, recognizing the celebration of the Lunar New Year and encouraged residents to honor traditions, contributions and the community spirit of Asian and Asian American families, organizations and small businesses throughout the region.

March: Became a member of the City of Roseville Chamber of Commerce

By joining the chamber of commerce, our organization can ensure that AAPI voices are represented in local business policy as well as contribute to the city’s cultural and economic vitality.

March: Collaborative Social Event between Sierra College’s AANHPI Employee Resource Group and AAPI Placer County

AANHPI is the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Collective at Sierra College, whose mission is to maintain and expand equity efforts. The two groups came together for a deliciously fun Dumpling Fest tour, an evening of laughter, shared bites and bonding over the deep cultural stories and memories that food always seem to invoke.

March – April: Community Circles

We hosted our very  first community circles this year. The first gathering was a platform for AAPI  community members to share their side hustles, hobbies and passion projects.  This was followed by Page & Pen, our new  book club and writing workshop. These circles sparked conversation and nurtured  creativity, serving as another avenue for us to deepen community connection.
